Abstract The behaviors of gas-liquid interface associate with two-phase annular flow regime in horizontal micro tubes are investigated with linear stability analysis.A model of gas-liquid interface is developed relied on Rayleigh instability,in which effects of gravity force,surface tension and interface shear on film thickness axe considered.From numerical simulation results based on variable tube diameter and gas-core diameter of annular flow,a correlation of the most instable wave length related to gas-core diameter is proposed.This will be useful for understanding the mechanism of enhanced heat transfer of micro-channel under high heat flux.
